Have you been riped off by LOWES home supplies and service stores on your remodeling?
Think you for your responses, yes their pricing is weird. It is not the pricing that makes me angry it is the quality of work you get from their subcontractors that erks me. Lowes subcontractors vary so much in the quality of service it should be unlawful.

no, i have worked with both lowes and home depot and found them to be very consumer friendly [who]
I don’t work for them, I’ve been doing flooring for fifteen years. They have people who learn their trades from books and go by the book, they can’t think outside of the box, so a lot of the time they will sell you materials you don’t need, tools you won’t use, and give you advice that doesn’t work. Sorry but those are the facts. [who]
Lowes is gawd awful for pricing and Home Depot are generally a lot higher priced then local outfits.. Menards generally is the best prices in the midwest. We have a couple local builder yard that will general knock the socks off the competition for lumber and building products. the comsumer marketing of Home Depot and Lowes is what get’s people in the door. I don’t buy much at either place. generally lumber quality and selection is crap and picked through.
The turnover of help at Lowes and Home Depot is a reflection of their management. I’ve known guys at the local supply places that have been there for a decade or so, a long termer at our local Home Depot is a person with about 3 months. Generally these people have no clue what it takes to do something, they don’t want to help people. [who]
Just the other day I was doing an enlargement project on my deck. I was getting some outdoor 2X6’s to frame it up, as the casheer was ringing up the total, I noticed that the price was different for a number of of same size boards. Then I noticed that there was a price sticker on both ends of each piece of lumber. They were for different prices on the same stick of lumber! Lowes is famous for charging the wrong prices for items. Even though it may only be a couple of cents on each item, those few cents add up rather quickly.
I also noticed that Lowes has some stupid rules for returning items. Even if you have the receipt for the item you want to return, they will not give a refund or even a store credit unless you show them a driver’s license. I asked why they needed to see my license…. My name was not on the receipt, so it should not matter who was making the return… The dolt behind the counter just told me….. That’s just our rule! She could not tell me why I needed ID, she just keep repeating it’s just our rule.
The customer service at Lowes stinks! You can really see why the turn-over there is so high. Every time you go there, they have new employees that are even more clueless that the people they replace. [who]
