How do I replace rotten underlayment when remodeling a tile shower?
I am remodeling a shower/tub area. I removed the old tiles and the wall underneath is in good shape except for the tub lip which is rusted away. Some of the greenboard looks rotten near the spout and valves. What do I replace the old board with (it is 20 years old)???
The green paper came off with the tiles, what do I put down on the good areas before putting the mastic down? Roofing paper?
If I put down cement board, do I put paper over it before I put down the mastic? What should I use to level the wall once the cement board is down? Thanks SO much!
