Is this a $3000 personal loss I can carryover year to year? He basically took our money for very very poor work we had to re-do all over.

A HELOC is only for people who already own and have paid off part of their mortgage, right?

We have not yet purchased a home, and we want to apply for a loan for remodeling costs (house needs structural repair.)

We don’t have any of our own money to do the extensive work required. We are prepared to offer a very very low amount for the house, but don’t know how to find funding to do the repairs.

(Don’t tell me to NOT buy the house. I know that is always an option.)

Hubby and I are remodeling our mobile home, due to recently finding black mold from previous water damage. Starting tomorrow we are starting by remodeling one of the bedrooms that measures 11×11. We already know how much drywall we will need for the walls and ceiling (we’ve chosen to use drywall) – we want to insulate the place, because we noticed over the past few years, that it doesn’t heat nor cool very well. My questions are as follows :

1. When insulating, whats the best type for mobile homes?
2. Do you insulate just behind the walls, or the ceiling and floor as well?
3. How much insulation will I need total (square footage) to insulate th room? If doing only the walls? Doing the walls and ceiling? Doing the Walls, Ceiling and floor?….

Any other tips that may be helpful while insulating, that saves either time or money are greatly appriciated.

When any contractor who do the job and get money by check from customer then does he required to issue an Invoice to the customer?

My boyfriend and I just bought our first house.
& the people we bought from, starting tearing out the guts of the house because they wanted to remodel, but in the end they just didn’t have the time or money to do so.

So I’m basically looking at a blank slate, and looking for ideas online as of right now.

Would it save me any money if had the house prepped for the contractor? Having cabinets, appliances, carpet, flooring removed or Am I better off letting contractor handle all the demo himself? (I have not received a contract from builder yet)

Hi! We currently are trying to re-finance and take cash out to finish remodeling. We have a FHA approval, but they will not release the funds unless we are completely done remodeling. Any suggestions of where to go to get the money we need to finish???

I purchased some land with a mobile home already on it. The mobile home is not habitable but it is repairable. Work has already been started on it but money is becoming hard to come by. Does anyone know of any grants or programs offered by the government that i could use to complete these repairs. I am a single mother with two young children.
