Miss Mazza asked:

We completely redid our bathroom ourselves. Can we claim any of it when we itemize. We saved all of the home depot and lowes receipts. They add up to about $800. Also, we have a few receipts from the December of 2009 that we never claimed. Can we claim those on our 2010 taxes? Thanks!
Ok, thanks!

I just want to understand how it works. Can you get it online or do you need to go to a branch? Do you need to present estimates? How do you agree on a amount? Is it better than a regular loan?

raddsp asked:

I have a home in Manchester Tn and we have been slowly remodeling the home. It is about 2100 sq ft of living space. Our normal electric bill is about 150 a month. We would like to add some solar panels to the home to help reduce the amount of the bill. How many panels do I need and what would be the cost? I am not trying to go completely of the grid but I would like to start somewhere and maybe over the years be able to add. What is your recommendation for a reasonable cost of under 2 to 3 k??

Remodel home or build new home?

doodlebug406 asked:

My family has grown too big for our small home. We have been discussing remodeling our home and adding an addition on with more rooms. However, our home is a 1970 modular home and is in bad shape. In the remodeling process we have to put on a new roof, replace all the windows, and do something about the mold in the floor and walls. The thing is we still owe about $50,000 on our home. What should we do? Remodel the existing home and add an addition OR build a new home and tear down the old one?
